Zinc die castings – A broad range of surface treatments

One of the main benefits of zinc die castings is that they require minimum preparation before eventual post-treatment. IZA published a brochure on zinc diecasting post-treatments. This brochure may be viewed and downloaded by clicking on the following link: surface finishes . For printed copies please contact IZA at info@iza.com . Testing of new surface treatments continues: results will be communicated in future issues of this newsletter. High fluidity diecasting alloy

A new die casting alloy, developed by IZA with sponsorship from North American Diecasting Association and the USA Department of Energy, allows the production of castings as little as 0.25 mm wall thickness. The first new application was a religious bread (host) dispenser, to address concerns about transfer of bacteria during religious services. Other applications with this new alloy are being evaluated.

Upcoming Die Casting events

We hope you will find this newsletter informative, and please feel free to provide feedback and to distribute to colleagues.
